Representing These Fine Brands:
Sogrape Vinhos de Portugal
- "The Leading Wines of Portugal"
Family company, founded in 1942 in Vila Real, at the
boundary of the Douro demarcated region. Founder Fernando
Van Zeller Guedes is best known for developing the sparkling,
all purpose Mateus Rose, now popular the world over.
Mateus Rose is Portugal's best selling wine export,
due in large part to Sogrape's continuous marketing
support. For the last 50 years, the company has devoted
itself to diversifying its product range. Sogrape's
Quinta dos Carvalhais is considered one of the best-developed
wineries in Europe. In addition, a spurt of acquisition
activity in the 1980's and 1990's, has bolstered the
company's position worldwide.
Finca Flichman S.A.
- "The Evolution of Fine Argentine Wines"
The original winery, founded in 1893, stands at the
very foot of the Andes Mountains in the province of
Mendoza. Preserved, restored and enlarged by its proprietors,
it has been endowed with the very finest and most advanced
winemaking technologies: stainless steel, double-cased
fermentation tanks and small French and American oak
casks. The expansion of its vineyards and the incorporation
of latest generation equipment have allowed Finca Flichman
to make wines of high quality and personality which
clearly mark a step in the evolution of fine wines from
the New World.
Offley Porto -
"Dating from 1737, a long standing tradition of
excellence."
The Offley name is associated with the knowledge and
experience of century old traditions as well as modern
age technology. Founded in 1737, Offley established
its reputation in the 19th century, under the guardianship
of JJ Forrester, a legendary figure in the history of
Port wine, later named Baron of Forrester by the King
of Portugal. The Offley vineyards cover an area measuring
hundreds of kilometers, laid out in terraces and situated
in one of the most beautiful properties of the area.
It is here, silently and in darkness, that Offley Port
becomes what the world has long ago discovered.
Unicer - Super Bock
- "The authentic taste from Portugal"
In June 1977, and after the merger of the 3 main Portuguese
beer producers, UNICER (Uniao Cervejeira E.P) was born.
The company remained with government capital until June
1990, when all of its capital was privatized. Focused,
above all, on the beer market, UNICER has also an important
position in the production and distribution of soft
drinks and waters. Super Bock beer was first introduced
in the Portuguese market in the early 30's. It is the
leading beer in the Portuguese market (42% market share/Sept.
1998) and is the only beer to have won 15 consecutive
gold medals in the "Monde Selection de la Qualite".
Produced with selected and high quality materials, Super
Bock is a lager beer inserted into the Bock beer category
(very strong beers).
Anakena
“A Unique Philosophy”
A different philosophy in the art of winemaking prompted
Jorge Gutiérrez - former owner of a prestigious
Chilean winery - to develop in 1996 a production concept
which will undoubtedly make a significant contribution
to the Chilean wine industry. In this venture he was
joined by the well-known Chilean entrepreneur, Felipe
Ibáñez, as principal partner. Together
they created ANAKENA, a winery inspired by the purity,
magic and mysticism of our land and which bears the
name of a beautiful beach on Easter Island.
Ramazzotti
“The Creator of Italian Amaro”
In 1815, Ausano Ramazzotti started the founding company
in a small shop in Milan. In addition to wines and liqueurs,
he sold a special tonic of herbs, orange peel and other
ingredients. Ausano Ramazzotti’s Amaro quickly
gained popularity due to its versatility as a perfect
aperitif or digestif. Today, Amaro Ramazzotti has passed
the one million case mark and is now one of the top
100 premium distilled spirit brands worldwide.
